Here's a video taken in 2007 when we only had 5 piggies and room for a dining table:
My Guinea Pig Diary
After relocating from London to sunny Fife in Scotland, we bought two guinea pigs. Little did we know that 5 years later, we would have 14 Gorgeous Guinea Girls, many of which are rescue pigs. We turned our dining room into a guinea pig room and it has become the heart of the house. We love our Guinea Girls very much and feel our lives have been tremendously enriched by them!

Introducing: Flick
Felicity, aka Flick, is our youngest guinea pig. She's full of personality: very cheeky, very bossy and above all very, very loud. We've had many vocal guinea pigs over the years and noticed that skinny pig are more so than their hairy friends. Flick, however, is in a league of her own! And she's teaching the rest: Amy and even shy old Molly have found their voices.

Catch up and Good-bye's
In the months since I last updated this blog we have seen too many changes to our little herd...We lost two of our skinnies: gorgeous origi-skinny Angela and beloved horsey-face Amanda.
In December, three more skinnies joined our herd: Felicity, Kate and her baby daughter Sookey. Unfortunately Sookey's stay with us was only ever so brief as she passed away this January.
We miss our three skinnies tremendously!
After all these changes, our herd now consists of 14 female guinea pigs ranging in age from a few months to over 5 years: Molly, Keleigh, Jenny, Betty, Bonnie (Bonsai), Zoe, Cassandra, Diane (Dianey), Fiona, Amy, Monica (Monka), Melissa (Melly), Felicity (Flick) and Kate.

Next up on the catwalk - or rather cavywalk - is Jenny:
She is such a special piggy! The bravest and most strong minded guinea pig I've ever met!

Guinea Pig Weights
I gave the Gorgeous Guinea Girls a manicure/pedicure today and took their weights:
Molly: 1170g
Keleigh: 993g
Betty: 1269g
Jenny: 1239g
Bonnie: 1286g
Fiona: 1359g
Zoe: 1042g
Cassandra: 1190g
Diane: 1227g
Amy: 955g
Angela: 909g
Monica: 910g
Melissa: 1044g
Amanda: 819g
(listed by age - from oldest to youngest)
Although Bonnie looks by far the largest, it's interesting that Fiona is actually quite a bit heavier. Amy is too light for my liking probably due to being on antibiotics for 3 weeks this summer.
I also would like Keleigh to be over one kilo again, but she has always been a slender piggy and her gradual weight loss is likely due to her age. In comparison Molly used to be around the 1300g mark so she's probably lost the same amount of weight as Keleigh as she turned from a woman into an older lady.
Angela and Amanda are about the same age as Melissa but about 130g lighter - I guess that's the difference between hairless and hairy!

Here are some pictures of our lovely Betty:
I absolutely love black piggies and Betty's coat is so very shiny. She's a fantastic piggy!

Here are some pictures of Keleigh after her recent bath:
I hope she wasn't questioning my talents as a photographer in this last picture!
She's our second oldest piggy, but doesn't show her age at all.

Video: Guinea Pig Travel Journal
Here's another video I uploaded to You Tube a while ago:
I tried to tape them a few weeks prior to this on the same journey, but most of them decided to remain in the kitchen and I had to pick them up and carry them back to their home. You just can't count on cooperation from my beautiful girlies. They have a mind of their own and strong personalities. That's why I love them so much!

Relaxing in Style
The Guinea Girls certainly know how to live a life of leisure and luxury:
Princess Angela
Queen Amy
Empress Betty
I bought this jewellery box quite a while ago but the girls never liked it. Now it looks like it finally has come into fashion - guinea pig style.

Skinny Pigs
Our gorgeous skinny pigs enjoy the warmer weather. They are full of energy which they mostly spent on arguing with each other. They are proper teenager brats right now.
However they also have their peaceful moments:

Angela is sunbathing while Monica retired to a shadier area (and Amy hiding underneath the bed).
Another picture of "Put-A-Jumpa-On-Angela" in the sun, this time with Amanda in the background.
Close-up of stunning "Monca".
And last but not least a picture of wee Amanda better know as "Horsey-Face":
